Washougal Motocross traffic faces detours

Published: July 19, 2012, 5:00pm

Construction crews prepared for the removal of the Cougar Creek Bridge along Washougal River Road outside of Washougal on Thursday.

The $1.4 million replacement project has completely closed a section of Washougal River Road until this fall, forcing drivers onto one of several detours set up by Clark County Public Works.

The closure also means thousands of spectators heading to this weekend’s Washougal MX National motocross event will have to navigate a different route to reach the track on Northeast Borin Road.

Information about the project and detours is available at http://www.clark.wa.gov/publicworks/roads/cougar.html.
