The city of Vancouver is seeking city residents to fill a midterm vacancy on the Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission.

Applicants must live within the Vancouver city limits. The post expires in December 2013.

The commission is a 13-member volunteer group of city and county residents. It advises city and county policymakers and staff on the needs, plans and programs for an adequate system of parks, open space, playgrounds, facilities and recreation services for Vancouver and Clark County.

The commission meets from noon to 3 p.m. on the third Friday of each month, plus during occasional special meetings.

Those interested should contact Amanda Delapena in the Vancouver City Manager’s office, 360-487-8605 or via email.

Application deadline is 5 p.m. Aug. 13.
