CLEVELAND (AP) — Veteran right-hander Joel Pineiro, who pitched in Baltimore’s organization this season, will have surgery on his right shoulder Tuesday.

Pineiro has a torn labrum and will also be examined for a possible torn rotator cuff.

The 33-year-old is 104-93 with a 4.41 ERA over 12 major league seasons. He has pitched for Seattle, Boston, St. Louis and the Los Angeles Angels.

Pineiro signed with Philadelphia in January, but was released in spring training. He signed a minor-league contract with the Orioles in April and made two starts for Triple-A Norfolk.
