ST. LOUIS (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals began their game with a three-man umpire crew because Eric Cooper went out with an illness on a 103-degree day.

A replacement was on the way Tuesday night.

D.J. Reyburn was behind the plate with Marty Foster at third and Jeff Kellogg at first base.

The Cardinals said minor league umpire John Tumpane was scheduled to arrive sometime during the game.
