LONGVIEW (AP) — For more than a month people have been trying to help a duck on Lake Sacajawea near Longview that had a blow dart through its neck.

But the duck could still swim and fly and got away from everyone trying to capture it — until Tuesday.

The Daily News reports Longview Parks Supervisor Curt Nedved and two employees were able to nab the wily waterfowl in a fishing net.

Nedved had to pull out the dart himself because the duck was tangled in the net. The bird is being treated at Ocean Bean Animal Hospital.
