KWRL finishes second at Babe Ruth state

The Babe Ruth baseball team of KWRL (Woodland-Ridgefield-La Center) lost to Twin-Cities (Chehalis-Centralia) 9-4 in the championship game of the 15-year-old Southern Washington state tournament on Wednesday at Castle Rock.

KWRL had a 2-1 lead through four innings.

Both teams advance to regionals at Kelso Rister Stadium starting Monday.

On Tuesday, Hazel Dell Metro was eliminated from the 14-year-old state tournament in Elma. Hazel Dell first eliminated Kelso 13-2, then lost to Twin-Cities 12-2 in the semifinal.

Little League baseball — Glenwood was eliminated from the Major state tournament in Walla Walla on Tuesday, losing to Mercer Island 13-1.
