ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Texas Rangers pushed back Roy Oswalt’s next start a day until Monday, and right-hander Colby Lewis underwent surgery Friday to repair a torn flexor tendon in his right elbow.

Oswalt missed his last start because of tightness in his back. He will start Monday against the Los Angeles Angels.

Right-hander Scott Feldman, who had been scheduled to start Monday, was moved ahead to Sunday’s final game of a three-game series against the Chicago White Sox.

Lewis is expected to be out nine to 12 months. He will begin rehabbing in Texas in a few days.

Right-handed reliever Mark Lowe will begin an injury rehab assignment Saturday at Double-A Frisco. Lowe has been on the disabled list for a month because of a strained muscle in his rib cage.
