Vacancies on parks advisory commission

The Board of Clark County Commissioners needs to fill four vacancies on the Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission.

Applicants must live outside Vancouver city limits.

One term begins immediately to fill an unexpired term through Dec. 31, 2012. Terms for the other three vacancies are for three years, beginning January 2013.

The 13-member Parks and Recreation Commission meets on the third Friday of each month from 1 to 3 p.m.

The commission serves in an advisory capacity to the Vancouver City Council and Clark County commissioners in matters relating to: greenways, open space, trails, recreation programs, and cultural programs and activities.

Applicants should submit a letter of interest and résumé to Jennifer Clark, Board of County Commissioners, P.O. Box 5000, Vancouver, WA 98666-5000.

Applications may be faxed to 360-397-6058 or emailed to jennifer.clark@clark.wa.gov.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23.
