NEW YORK (AP) — A minor league free agent has drawn a 50-game suspension after testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug.

The commissioner’s office announced that shortstop Diory Paulino had been penalized Monday under the minor league drug program.

The 18-year-old Paulino played two games for Boston’s team in the Dominican Summer League this year and was released. The suspension will take effect if Paulino signs with a big league organization.
