DAVIE, Fla. (AP) — The Miami Dolphins have had their share of quarterback battles since Dan Marino retired in the spring of 2000. This summer’s competition is shaping up as perhaps the mostly hotly contested.
General manager Jeff Ireland made it clear after a disappointing 2011 season that his team needed to get better at the position, and he did his part in the offseason to address the problem.
Before the draft, Ireland signed longtime Jacksonville starter David Garrard to join incumbent Matt Moore. Ireland then made Ryan Tannehill the first quarterback drafted in the first round by Miami since 1983.
Now, it’s time to decide which of these quarterbacks will be the starter.
