WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — Wake Forest will play two men’s basketball exhibition games in Canada this fall.

The school said Tuesday that it would play Brock University on Oct. 19 in St. Catherines, Ontario, and face Ryerson University the following day in Toronto.

It marks the Demon Deacons’ first international preseason trip since they went to the Bahamas in early September 2006.

Coach Jeff Bzdelik says his young team will benefit from playing international competition so close to home. Wake Forest’s roster has four returning scholarship players and seven freshmen.
