American Lepchenko loses in Olympic tennis

WIMBLEDON, England (AP) — American Varvara Lepchenko lost Tuesday in the second round of the Olympics to Julia Goerges of Germany, 6-3, 7-5.

Lepchenko tried to rally in the second set but lost the final four games. She is from Uzbekistan and became a U.S. citizen in September. She was playing in her first Olympics.
