Esther Short — Cruisin’ the Gut wasn’t just a good time for classic and custom car enthusiasts; it also collected 3,345 pounds of food for the hungry. The proceeds set a new record for the event. Organizer Phil Medina and his 9-year-old son, Aiden, drove the load to Share House, the men’s homeless shelter on West 13th Street. Medina and others already are planning the 2013 event.
