TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Alex Mejia went 5 for 5 with three RBIs and four runs scored as Arizona’s offense kept humming along, using 23 hits to rout Louisville 16-4 on Saturday night in the Tucson Regional.

A night after the Wildcats (40-17) had 20 hits in a 15-3 drubbing of Missouri, Arizona dominated by using a five-run third inning and a seven-run seventh to put the game out of reach.

Seth Mejias-Brean went 4 for 6 with two RBIs, and Brandon Dixon homered for Arizona. Konner Wade (8-3) allowed four runs — two earned — and 10 hits in eight innings.

Louisville starter Jared Ruxer (8-3) was roughed up for five runs and seven hits in just 2 1/3 innings. The Cardinals (40-21) briefly led 1-0 on Stewart Ijames’ RBI single in the first.
