PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Barring a dramatic upset in November, two women will occupy the top two places in Oregon law enforcement by early next year, a first for a state well-known for putting women in leadership positions.
One of them is the U.S. attorney for Oregon, Amanda Marshall. Marshall says growing up amid frequent change helped shape who she is today.
Marshall took the job in October. She says one of her chief priorities is battling child exploitation.
Marshall spent most of her career at the state level, which she says served as good preparation for managing some of the most complex cases in Oregon’s federal legal system.
