DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Rockies have recalled left-handed reliever Rex Brothers from Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Brothers was available to pitch Saturday against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Brothers started the season on the Rockies’ opening-day roster. In 22 appearances, he went 2-2 with a 5.87 ERA, striking out 21 in 15 1-3 innings. He was sent down on May 20 and had a 1.69 ERA in four games at Triple-A.
A 2009 second-round pick by the Rockies, Brothers is 3-4 with a 3.70 ERA in 70 games with Colorado.
To make room for Brothers, the Rockies optioned right-hander Carlos Torres to Colorado Springs.
