Southeast Grace Ave. road project begins

Published: June 2, 2012, 5:00pm

Work began last week on road upgrades for one of Battle Ground’s busiest thoroughfares.

The $6.4 million first phase of the Southeast Grace Avenue Improvement Project started Wednesday and is expected to finish in October. The avenue accesses businesses, homes and cross streets in the city.

The project’s first phase will rebuild Southeast Grace between Eaton and Rasmussen boulevards, providing two travel lanes with a center turn lane at various access points, bike lanes, sidewalks, street lights and landscaping improvements. It will also install water, sewer and stormwater infrastructure.

The project is being paid for by a combination of federal, state and city money.
