CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Branden Cogswell drove in four runs, Branden Kline pitched 5 2-3 strong innings and Virginia beat Army 9-1 Saturday in the completion of the opener at the Charlottesville Regional.

Kline (7-3) pitched an inning Friday before the game was suspended because of rain. He allowed six hits and one earned run over the two days.

Relievers Kyle Crockett and Austin Young finished, sending Virginia into the winner’s bracket.

Army ace Chris Rowley (11-1) also came back after throwing eight pitches on Friday, and labored. He walked five, hit four and allowed five hits, the last Cogswell’s three-run double in the sixth that made it 6-1.

Cogswell also got hit by a pitch with the bases full in a three-run second, and Stephen Bruno followed with a two-run single.
