LA Kings return home halfway to Stanley Cup win

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A coronation seems imminent for the Los Angeles Kings.

After two more victories in yet another road arena, the Kings are two wins away from the franchise’s first title. They’ve even got a chance to raise it at home, starting with Game 3 on Monday night.

Yet for all of Los Angeles’ astonishing success in a charmed postseason run including 10 road victories without a loss, the New Jersey Devils have ample reason to think their own Stanley Cup dreams aren’t dead.

No playoff opponent has tested the Kings as thoroughly as the Devils, who would have needed only a stray deflection or a shot under the crossbar to reverse this series’ results.
