PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Cowlitz County authorities say a 52-year-old Toutle, Wash., man apparently fell to his death from a high bridge in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest after taking photos of the remote scenery near Woodland.
The Oregonian (http://is.gd/KimU5Y ) reports investigators found Lance Chandler’s badly damaged camera near his body on Saturday.
The county coroner’s office is expected to perform an autopsy.
The death investigation followed a call to the sheriff’s office by a U.S. Forest Service employee, who reported that an abandoned vehicle had been parked for a few days on a Highway 504 bridge between Woodland and Cougar.
