The pedestrian killed in a traffic accident Saturday night has been identified as Douglas Grendahl, 54, of Clark County.

A 16-year-old boy was driving the car that hit Grendahl, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office said. His name was not released.

Sgt. Fred Neiman said the Hockinson-area accident happened at 10,000 N.E. 172nd Ave, near Ward Road, at about 9:50 p.m. Neiman said the boy’s 2005 Chevrolet was northbound on 172nd Avenue when the vehicle struck Grendahl, who was standing in the northbound travel lane.

“The 16-year-old driver remained at the collision scene and has cooperated fully in the investigation. Speed and alcohol consumption are not suspected as contributing factors on the driver’s part.” Neiman wrote in an email.

Grendahl died at the scene, Neiman said.
