OCEAN SHORES, Wash. (AP) — The Surf Rescue Team saved a 13-year-old girl who was nearly swept away Sunday afternoon at Ocean Shores.

Deputy Police Chief Russ Fitz tells KBKW the Federal Way girl was at the beach with her family and had waded about 150 feet from shore when she got into trouble.

The Surf Rescue Team picked her up with personal watercraft. She was taken to Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen.
