Parolee arrested in Medford homicide

MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — Police say a man arrested in the death of a Medford man is on parole for attempted murder.

Twenty-nine-year-old Travis Donald Asbill was arrested Sunday in Eagle Point after police and deputies surrounded his home.

He was jailed on a murder charge in the death of 54-year-old Donald William Mack. He was found with severe head injuries Sunday by police responding to a report of an assault at his Medford apartment. He was taken to a hospital where he died.

Detectives are looking for witnesses who are believed to have been at the scene.
