PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Diamondbacks have placed first baseman Lyle Overbay on the paternity list and recalled outfielder A.J. Pollock from Triple-A Reno.

The club announced the moves Wednesday.

Overbay left the team to be with his wife, Sarah, for the birth of their fourth child. They have three sons, Adam, Alex and Luke.

According to baseball rules, he must miss at least one day and a maximum of three.

Pollock has batted .229 with a homer and four RBIs in three stints with the Diamondbacks this season, including one while Jason Kubel was on the paternity list. Pollock hit .348 with 10 doubles and 14 RBIs in 26 games with Reno.
