Cowboys’ Ware still gets occasional neck stingers

IRVING, Texas (AP) — Pro Bowl linebacker DeMarcus Ware says he still gets occasional stingers since a scary head-first collision in a game nearly three years ago.

Though Ware has never missed a game in his seven NFL seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, he said after practice Wednesday that he sometimes gets a tingling sensation and his arm will go numb for a couple of seconds after contact in games.

Ware says he never had any such problems before that collision in a game against San Diego in December 2009.

When Ware wasn’t at a practice session open to reporters last week, the Cowboys said Ware was out with a strained neck.

Ware says he missed that practice while getting X-rays and other tests that he called precautionary. He says he isn’t worried.
