COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio Supreme Court disciplinary board has again recommended a six-month law license suspension for the lawyer whose email tips about Ohio State football players trading memorabilia for tattoos triggered a far-reaching scandal.

The Supreme Court’s Board of Commissioners on Grievances and Discipline made its recommendation after reviewing a request by Christopher Cicero that it reconsider its original ruling.

The board made its updated recommendation Friday. The final punishment is up to the Supreme Court.

At issue is whether Cicero violated professional rules of conduct that prohibit revealing information from meetings with a client or a prospective client.

Cicero has argued the board relied on a faulty transcript of its November hearing and that a corrected quote in the updated transcript weakens its case.
