Letter: Wild salmon runs: Let science rule

I was pleased to read the May 21 editorial, “Protecting nature: Twin milestones illustrate importance of Endangered Species Act.” Salmon are important to our region both culturally and economically. While there have been some improvements in their returns due to court-ordered spill and other measures, the wild populations are still threatened and in need of our help.
