Sports camp season approaches

Sports camps and clinics are a summer tradition. Listed here are several camps planned in Clark County coached by area high school and college coaches.

BASEBALL

Vancouver Summer Baseball Camp — For ages 7-12. July 17-19 camp is 9 a.m. to noon all three days at the Skyview High School baseball field. Cost is $100. To register or to learn more, send an e-mail to eric.estes@vansd.org.

BASKETBALL

The first Union Titans Boys Basketball Camp is next week for boys entering grades 5-8. Sessions are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day at the Union High School gym. Cost is $125.

A second camp at Union High School for boys entering grades 3-6 will take place Aug. 6-9.

A more advanced camp for boys entering grades 7-8 will take place July 24-28 at Union High School.

• The Greater St. Helens Girls Basketball Camp of Champions is June 24-28 at Prairie High School. Camp director is Clark College women’s basketball coach Al Aldridge, the former longtime girls basketball coach at Prairie.

The morning session is for girls entering grades 3-6. It runs 8:30 a.m. to noon.

The afternoon session is for girls entering grades 7-9. It runs 1-5 p.m.

Cost is $110. Camp focuses on fundamental instruction and games, including a skills Olympics for prizes. Players and coaches from Clark College and from Prairie High School work this camp.
