ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Josh Hamilton is back with the Rangers after an intestinal virus sent him to the hospital.

The outfielder was admitted to the hospital Friday because of dehydration. He was released Saturday morning but was not with Texas during its victory over Houston that night.

Hamilton wasn’t in the lineup Sunday and didn’t participate in any baseball activities. He leads all players in voting for the American League All-Star team.

Hamilton will make the trip for the team’s three-game series against San Diego, which starts Monday. He is expected to play, though manager Ron Washington says Hamilton’s status is day-to-day.
