Clark County authorities are investigating a second bank robbery in the area, less than a half hour after a man allegedly robbed a Hazel Dell bank and led authorities on a high-speed car chase along Interstate 5 and then Highway 14.

The second robbery happened around 3:25 p.m. at a Bank of America on Auto Mall Drive in Vancouver, according to emergency radio traffic monitored by the Columbian.

It was not immediately clear if the same person who allegedly robbed the Riverview Savings Bank in Hazel Dell around 3 p.m. was also responsible for the second robbery. As of 3:30 p.m., the suspect in the Hazel Dell robbery remained at-large.

However, authorities reported on emergency radio traffic that an FBI official said the suspects in the bank robberies did not appear to be the same person.

The suspect in the Bank of America robbery had a large build, black shirt and long, curly brown hair, authorities said. He left on foot and was not seen getting into a vehicle.

More updates will be posted as they become available.
