Boat Trip wins Betfair Hollywood Park feature

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Boat Trip had smooth sailing in winning the $74,330 Tsunami Slew Stakes by a half-length on Friday night at Betfair Hollywood Park.

Ridden by Jose Valdivia Jr., Boat Trip ran a mile on the turf in 1:34.68 to remain undefeated on the surface. The 3-year-old colt paid $6.40, $4 and $3.20 as the 2-1 favorite.

Unusual Heatwave returned $3.80 and $2.60, while Canuletmedowneasy was another length back in third and paid $4.80 to show.

It was Valdivia’s first stakes win since he rode Rail Trip to victory in the 2009 Hollywood Gold Cup.

Boat Trip has three wins in seven career starts and earnings of $119,130.
