Letter: Romney remains unpredictable

The Columbian
Published: June 21, 2012, 5:00pm

I was surprised to read in the June 14 Columbian story “Romney championed green energy fund: As Mass. governor, he backed aid similar to what Solyndra got,” that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney championed the use of taxpayer funds to finance green energy startup companies.

Is this the same Mitt Romney who has traveled the country denouncing President Obama for doing exactly the same thing?

Come to think of it, was it not Mitt Romney who passed the individual mandate as part of health care reform in Massachusetts?

Just like Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts, Romney seems to have a penchant for being for something before he’s against it. I can’t help wondering who Romney is running against, President Obama or himself?
