UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) — The New York Islanders continued to stockpile young defensemen, selecting six more Saturday on the second day of the NHL draft.

The Islanders, who haven’t made the playoffs since 2007 and have just one postseason appearance since 2004, picked Finland’s Ville Pokka in the second round, Adam Pelech in the third, Loic Leduc (fourth), Doyle Somerby (fifth), Jesse Graham (sixth) and Jake Bischoff (seventh).

On Friday night, the Islanders acquired defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky from the Anaheim Ducks for a second-round pick in next year’s draft and then chose defenseman Griffin Reinhart with the No. 4 overall pick in the first round.
