Rays-Phillies opener rained out

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Friday night’s game between the Tampa Bay Rays and Philadelphia Phillies has been postponed by rain.

The start of the game was delayed for more than 2 1/2 hours before officials decided on the postponement. It will be made up as part of a split-admission doubleheader on Sunday, with the regularly scheduled game to begin at 1:05 p.m. and the second game scheduled to start at 6:35 p.m.

Philadelphia, last in the NL East, has lost 13 of its last 18 games. Tampa Bay, third in the AL East, has lost six of nine.
