Victim of suspected Vancouver homicide identified

Vancouver police on Sunday identified a suspected homicide victim as Michael J. Ellis, 48.

On Friday at 5:57 p.m., police were dispatched to an assault at 1011 W. 12th St., Unit 2, in west Vancouver. Ellis was living there, police said.

Ellis did not respond and was pronounced dead by Vancouver Fire Department personnel.

“Based upon evidence observed at the scene, the case is being investigated as a homicide,” a police press release said.

No one had been arrested as of Sunday night and police did not release any other information.
