Volcanoes swept in Edmonton

International Basketball League champion Vancouver Volcanoes dropped to .500 after suffering a weekend sweep to the Edmonton Energy.

Jermaine Bucknor, a University of Richmond product, scored 30 points as the Energy defeated the Volcanoes 114-100 on Saturday.

It was the Energy’s eighth win in a row following Friday night’s 106-105 win over the Volcanoes (8-8). This was the first meeting between these two teams since last year’s IBL championship game.

Vancouver, which has dropped four straight, was led by Devin Uskoski’s 31 points. He also had seven rebounds.

Alex Tienfenthaler added 21 points and nine rebounds. Andre Murray had 17 points, Porter Troupe 13 and Calvin Hampton 10.
