MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Kevin Youkilis is in the lineup for his Chicago White Sox debut, batting second and playing third base.

Acquired the day before in a trade with the Red Sox, Youkilis joined his new team for a three-game series in Minnesota. He said before Monday’s game against the Twins that he left Boston “with a lot of great memories” but declined to discuss his relationship with Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine.

The three-time All-Star corner infielder came to the White Sox in exchange for utility backup Brent Lillibridge and right-handed reliever Zach Stewart. The White Sox, badly in need of a productive third baseman, welcomed his arrival. Outfielder Jordan Danks gave Youkilis his No. 20 jersey, which he wore in Boston.

Chicago started the week in first place in the AL Central.
