The Columbian
Published: June 25, 2012, 5:00pm

Hospice Southwest in Vancouver is looking for volunteers to provide a range of services.

Volunteers must be 18 years or older and willing to make a one-year commitment to serve about four hours per week.

Direct patient care volunteers will serve one-on-one support to patients and offer respite for their caregivers and loved ones. Bereavement phone call support volunteers will make phone calls of support to the family members two and six months after their loved ones die. Office support volunteers complete office tasks such as filing, scanning medical records, filling out bereavement cards and assembling packets.

The next scheduled volunteer training is in early July. Another training will be offered this fall.

To apply to be a volunteer or for more information, contact volunteer associate Becky Bilyeu at 360-696-5384 or bbilyeu@swmedicalcenter.org.
