The Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic of the Northwest is offering free ear plugs to protect firework spectators’ hearing this Fourth of July.

The clinic is offering free contoured foam ear plugs with lanyard (limit two pair per person) to anyone who stops by the clinic during business hours.

The ear plugs are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 28, June 29, July 2 and July 3, or while supplies last. The ear protection can be picked up at the clinic’s Fisher’s Landing office, 1405 S.E. 164th Ave. Suite 102, and Salmon Creek office, 14411 N.E. 20th Ave. Suite 101.

A single bang of a firecracker at close range can permanently damage hearing, according to the clinic.
