Letter: No need to mock president

The Columbian
Published: June 26, 2012, 5:00pm

I find the June 21 Columbian political cartoon from the Orlando Sentinel foolish and inappropriate because you and I both know that this Congress spends all its time squabbling like schoolchildren playing “I gotcha” day in and day out. Congress is fiddling away the time while the nation and its people suffer from this recession. Every day, we read of desperate people doing desperate things driven by unemployment and lost wealth gambled away by greedy Wall Street insiders.

Someone must do something to create a path to the future for young people in our nation. Mocking the United States president because he is doing something for the Hispanic youth reduces the “Fourth Estate” to the same foolish games that Congress plays.
