INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Mike Mitchell, the all-time leading trainer at Del Mar, will have surgery on Friday to remove a brain tumor that was diagnosed earlier this week.
Mitchell’s wife Denise says the 64-year-old trainer was admitted to USC Medical Center on Wednesday. She says the family is hopeful that doctors can remove the tumor and then run tests to determine if it is malignant or benign.
