PORTLAND — The charity arm of organic grocer New Seasons Market has awarded grants to three area farmers markets, in an effort to make fresh, locally grown produce more accessible in Clark County.

The Salmon Creek Farmers Market, Vancouver Farmers Market and the Camas Farmers Market each received grants from the New Seasons Markets’ Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

The program is supported by sales of New Seasons Market brands. For each item sold, a portion of the price is distributed to the charitable program.

New Seasons operates 12 stores throughout the Vancouver-Portland metro area, including one store in east Vancouver on the northwest corner of Southeast 164th Avenue and McGillivray Boulevard.
