Salmon Creek — A new preschool opening this summer in Salmon Creek is having an open house from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

The new franchise of the Goddard School, a national network of 300-plus preschools in 39 states, will be at 13201 N.E. 27th Ave. The preschool plans to hire 25 full-time and part-time employees, said owner Michelle Solari.

Parents can enroll children from 6 weeks old until they start kindergarten. Rates are not yet finalized but will be competitive with other high-quality preschools, Solari said.

An 8,000-square-foot building with two playgrounds is under construction at the site. It will hold nine classrooms.
