OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Republican gubernatorial candidate Rob McKenna is attending a fundraiser for presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

McKenna’s campaign said that the state attorney general’s presence at the Thursday night event in Bellevue is not an endorsement for the former Massachusetts governor. McKenna has avoided endorsing any of the four Republican candidates before Saturday’s caucuses in Washington state. Romney fundraiser is at the Meydenbauer Center, and tickets are $1,000 per person, or $2,500 for a photo with Romney. McKenna spokesman Charles McCray says McKenna’s not required to contribute and is going to meet with supporters of his campaign against Democratic U.S. Rep Jay Inslee.

Romney is in a crowded primary race with Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul. All have visited the state, and Santorum and Paul are back this week in advance of the caucuses.
