Cornell defeats Dartmouth 70-57

ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) — Johnathan Gray scored 20 points and Cornell defeated Dartmouth 70-57 Friday night, sweeping the season series.

Drew Ferry added 16 points for the Big Red, who are guaranteed a finish of .500 or better in Ivy League play going into Saturday’s season finale against Harvard. Cornell (12-15, 7-6), which also beat the Big Green 68-59 on Feb. 4, knotted the all-time series at 102-102.

Chris Wroblewski, who dished out five assists, became the Big Red’s career leader in that category with 475.

Cornell led 28-15 at the 4:40 mark before Dartmouth (5-24, 1-12) closed the half on a 9-0 run. After a layup by Jvonte Brooks, who finished with 15 points, made it 35-31, Cornell built a 22-point lead.

The Big Red shot 39.3 percent (22 of 56) to Dartmouth’s 34 percent (16 of 47), but made 11 of 23 3-pointers compared to the Big Green’s 3 of 15.
