MEXICO CITY (AP) — American forward Herculez Gomez scored for the second straight game, netting a tiebreaking goal that helped Santos Laguna beat San Luis 5-2 on Saturday night in the Mexican Clausura.

Making his second straight start after five appearances as a second-half substitute, Gomez scored in the 54th minute to give the hosts a 3-2 lead.

The 29-year-old, a member of the 2010 U.S. World Cup team, left Estudiantes of Guadalajara in December to sign with Santos.

Oribe Peralta scored four goals for Santos Laguna, building a 2-0 lead in the fourth and 17th minutes, then adding goals in the 71st and 79th.
