SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Spurs guard Manu Ginobili was back in uniform against the Denver Nuggets and ready to play just his 10th game this season Sunday night.
Ginobili has missed the last two weeks with a strained oblique and sat out a month before that with a broken hand. He was not in the starting lineup as coach Gregg Popovich tries easing his star playmaker back slowly.
Ginobili was averaging 19.8 points before breaking his hand five games into the season. Yet the Spurs have held up remarkably well without him, sitting just 312 games behind first-place Oklahoma City entering Sunday night.
Tim Duncan was questionable for Sunday’s game because of flulike symptoms.
