NEW YORK (AP) — The narrator of the terrorism documentary “The Third Jihad” is planning to speak at a rally outside of the New York City Police Department headquarters to show support for the department, even though city officials have disavowed the film.

Dr. Zuhdi Jasser (zoo-dee jah’-suhr) is among the scheduled speakers at a rally set for Monday. He narrates the film which uses dramatic footage to warn against the dangers of radical Islam. The rally comes as the department is criticized following AP reports showing the NYPD monitored Muslims after the Sept. 11 attacks.

Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly was interviewed for the documentary in 2007. He said that after he saw it, he regretted doing the interview. He has apologized to the Muslim community for it.
