Man accused of setting trash bin fires in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Police were looking for whoever set fire to a half-dozen trash bins in downtown Portland when an officer spotted a suspect leaning into a garbage can.

The 48-year-old man was jailed Sunday on arson and reckless burning charges.

He’s also suspected of setting fire to a sign on a building under renovation.
