OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — State Representative Deb Eddy, a Democrat from Kirkland, won’t seek re-election in November.

Eddy has served three two-year terms in the state House. She said she never intended to spend more than six years in the Legislature.

Eddy is a fiscal moderate who has called for longer-term budget planning and more state money kept in reserve. She is left-of-center on social issues such as abortion and gay marriage.

Before her election to the Legislature, Eddy served as mayor of Kirkland.

Eddy says she plans to travel and spend time with her family as she considers her future plans.
